i had no idea really what to expect. i think that is why i was so nervous. the night before he had told me that he was thinking between 7-8 pm, leaning more torwards 8. so at about 530 i thought i should start getting ready. I got out of the shower and saw that i had missed bruce's call.
i called him back.
he proceeded to tell me that he would leave his house at about 615...i was like "615 as in 30 minutes!?" i could already tell this was NOT going to be my night..
as fast as i could i dried my hair and did my makeup. the doorbell rang riiight as i was finishing. i might as well have been finishing my marathon because i was sooo red in the face from rushing. when i opened the door i immediately realized he was not exactly my type {whatever the heck my type is} but he was going to be nice. hey, nice boys are better than mean.
when we were driving back to his house for dinner he began to dis my school. calling it "uvu high" and when i told him i had just done homework for the past couple hours he looked at me and laugh. as you know from my previous posts THAT is my biggest pet peeve. college is college and call me not smart-BUT UVU IS HARD FOR ME.
okay i do not consider myself a clean freak. just a normal clean, neat person. i understand boys apartments are never really clean at all. but i have never really experienced filth hitting me in the face when i walked in. his dog had just "spit up" in the corner and he said 'oh he always does that.'
GET ME OUT OF HERE.
he decided he would cook me steak since in one of our previous converations i had said that i have only had steak once. --pretty sure there is a reason why that is--- but oh well.
while we are preparing the meal he had music going. to keep the conversation going i ask what his favorite song is. Dance by Garth Brooks. i should have known. i didn't think much of it until he says:
"i have always wanted to dance to this song in the kitchen"
uh oh. why did i have to ask that question? {seriously go look up that song and then imagine my situation} luckily, i had kept the conversation going until we got to the next song. then he says
"oh no, we missed the whole song, we got to go back to it."
i had to think quick on my feeet. and finally it came to me! "so whats your favorite upbeat song??" haha IT WORKED.
anyway, the night went on and after dinner we went and got a steamer at starbucks and he asked me what are my turn offs and turn ons [is that a word?] i knew that really he just wanted to tell me his so he did. and guess what his turn on was?
a good gum to teeth ratio
which makes sense i guess. but who says that? i immediately covered my mouth. i was scared!
anyway thank goodness bruce took me home after that. on my porch he asked me out again! was i supposed to say no right then and there? i was like uhhhmmmhyeah. hopefully he didn't catch my yes answer. of course i was going to give him a hug because it's the least i can do plus that makes it known that the date is OVER. i guess he didn't think i was going to give him one because he says:
GIVE ME SOME LOVIN'!!!!!!
wow. next time i will be giving you a resume' if you ever want to set me up.
thank you bruce. i now have another friend. his name is bruce.
hahahahahahaha. love this
ReplyDeleteway too funny. now i understand why you said something about steak the other night. haha bruce.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your posts. You make me laugh out loud! (I had to read it to David so he could participate as well since we've had conversations recently about awful dates and how girls have more awful dates than guys...David says because we are at the mercy of the guy.) Hopefully the next set-up (if there is one) will be better.
